#1 what format is the partition. If its Exfat or something like that Ubuntu may not be able to mount it.
2. Also free trial??? Ubuntu is 100% free as are most apps.

Yea also is it a new hdd? Internal/External? Also hard drives don't have a needle are you shure its not the fans? Run some diagnostics and see if the Rpm is different on Ubuntu. Im a noob here...

Hi im a noob to ubuntu and am already having problems:
First im using a samsung t3 SSD and my boot time is over 1:30 min. On a very crappy usb key i get a 10sec boot so i think somethings wrong....
