Excellent, thanks. Any idea what specifically has been optimized within this?
I feel bad asking something so trivial, maybe my Google-fu is getting worse with age.

I couldn't find a clear answer to this, but is the linux-image-virtual package for host machines that will contain VMs, or a VM-oriented kernel for guest OS (ubuntu)?
I have some guest VMs...
Looks like the 5870 EyeFinity 6 is a no-go with 3xDisplayport monitors. A new driver should be out this monday which addresses this problem for good.
I've got an EyeFinity 6 5870, which is different from the EyeFinity 5870. 6 displayport ports instead of the mixture of DP, HDMI, etc.
I've not been able to find anything on what to expect from...
Hrmm, I've got a real unique idea. How about "Firefox" with a nice little logo of a Fox on the globe :)
Last I saw, Planeshift was still so young that it wasn't much fun to play just yet. I'm not sure if this has changed in the last 6 months or not.
vim is definitely awesome. It does take a while to get used to it, but once you have a good idea of how to get around, you can run circles around emacs or gedit. I'm a very impatient programmer and I...
I usually err on the side of caution and just do a clean install. Rarely ever see problems.
Yes, I use it for software development. Absolutely critical to have :)
Dapper has run great on a wide variety of machines I've installed and used or setup for others. Your hardware may just be one of those select setups that have trouble with Ubuntu or Linux in general....
As mentioned, the MX510 doesn't have a tilt wheel and the button works fine, Firefox has a weird binding that can be easily fixed. Hence, anyone with an MX510 requires no special configuration. I...
Hrmm, apparently that button that I said was broken is only funky in Firefox. It appears to work just fine in everything else I've tried it with, must be a strange Firefox binding or something.

Assuming you don't use the top button, it's fine :) The original posts and replies don't work at all on my setup, this is a big step up from having nothing to having something.
And tilt wheel?...
This works for me with a Logitech MX510 on Dapper. xmodmap seems to be quite unreliable:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Configured Mouse"
Driver "mouse"

I really like to constantly investigate distributions as they release, I've got VMware on almost all of my machines and usually have 8-10 images of different distros of linux/BSD sitting on my drives...
Mine is from some German band that I can't ever remember. I just thought it looked cool :)

Although the early months were plagued with some serious differences of opinion amongst the community as to the role of these forums, I would agree that they are an absolutely critical part of the...
I could agree with this. There is definitely a growing number of people running XFCE in Ubuntu circles and offering a forum now versus then shouldn't be a big problem.
This isn't a question of following instructions correctly, this is a recent occurance. I've been using these repositories for a long time now with no problem but today I get:
You also might want to consider joining the Ubuntu docteam to write the guides that will be included with Breezy. They will cover a number of topics in detail.
Very neat! I have new wallpaper now :)
Good job and thanks
I have been wondering what the whole super cow power deal was for some time now, I didn't expect this :)
That sounds great and I like hearing how you appreciate Ubuntu, but I'm looking for more reason than compliments for Ubuntu :) What exactly makes you think Ubuntu is better than Fedora or SuSe or any...
Ok, a multi-tiered thread here that needs multiple response. Please try to address both subjects in your response.

Does anyone know of any universities out there that have adopted Ubuntu...
