Re: Cannot access Samba server on NAS

Try this. Open Dolphin, then go to the address bar and type "smb://username@ip.addr.of.NAS", e.g, "smb://jeff@192.168.1.100". You should be prompted for a password if needed.

    If the NAS supports...

I've cloned the hard drives to SSDs in two laptops using ddrescue, and both images booted with no problems.

  6. [SOLVED] Re: Convert Desktop 19.10 to Server 19.10 because server installation fails

It will automatically become the production version as long as you keep the packages updated.

You don't really need to do dist-upgrade every time. That brings in things like new kernel releases. ...

  9. [SOLVED] Re: Convert Desktop 19.10 to Server 19.10 because server installation fails

I wouldn't bother with 19.10 since its support window closes in the next six months.

20.04 will be available in a few weeks. It is a release with "long-term support" and thus much better suited...

    [xubuntu] Re: Zoom Communications Services

I always thought apt was used to retrieve software from the repositories, while dpkg was used to install stand-alone programs (rather like the difference between yum and rpm on RedHat systems).

    [xubuntu] Re: Zoom Communications Services

When you install the Zoom client with dpkg, it will complain about three missing dependencies. You need to install them manually and then it works as advertised. See my post above.
  13. Re: how do i install netflix or disneyplus into ubuntu?

Also, don't even try going the upgrade route from 11.04. Install 18.04, or soon 20.04, from scratch.

    [xubuntu] Re: Zoom Communications Services

I don't think that's possible. The Zoom client is a proprietary binary. I doubt the source code is publicly available.
