I got one of those too. It would be very nice to be able to get the color-changing backlight to work too. Maybe it is possible to mix the G15 and G19 driver? Is it the exactly same screen in the G510...

Maybe it is possible to mix some G19 and G15 code, as it has the same color backlight function as G19 and the same screen(?) as the G15?

That was not the problem!
I needed to disable the USB legacy driver in the BIOS then it worked perfectly. :D

I didn't have the problem in 8.10 but I might have fixed it there...

You are probably running the 32-bit version of ubuntu and you are definitely running a x-server on it, almost everybody(99,99%) of all people that has some kind of graphical interface on their linux...

Try this from a live cd, your harddrive may be defect:

sudo badblocks hda
hda can also be sda or hdb or something like that, you can check it with:

sudo fdisk -l
