  1. Re: Web browser wars of the 1990s: Embrace, extend, extinguish (specs?)

Somewhat related there is a great article about the history of today's weird user agent strings: http://webaim.org/blog/user-agent-string-history/
  2. Re: Question for LTS users - will you be upgrading to 16.04?

You probably know this but there is always the option to install the new Ubuntu without formatting /. In that case, even without a separate /home everything inside /home will be left intact. You will...

    Re: KDE Connect

To be honest I don't use it that much either :P but used it a couple of times to paste a URL from my desktop browser into WhatsApp. You can also start WhatsApp Web in the browser for that purpose but...

    Re: KDE Connect

Yeah, this is a nice application. What I like most is clipboard sharing. Copy on your PC, paste on your phone or the other way round.
  5. Re: Question for LTS users - will you be upgrading to 16.04?

I'm looking forward to KDE5. Hopefully it will be more stable when 16.04 arrives because I like what I'm seeing so far in screenshots. The arrival of KDE5 also seems to be a good reason for a fresh...

[SOLVED] Re: Mysterious Missing System Tray Icon

I'm still on KDE4 but when I right click on the system tray itself I have the option "System Tray Settings". There I can see which items are active and also show/hide them, maybe one application is...

    Re: January Jubilee Screenshots

Nice to see both new and 'old' KDE screenshots here :D

Here is old KDE4 (only wallpaper is different from previous month's submission).

  8. Re: haaa ... the good ole days of music players....

The Bento skin is nice indeed. Too bad you can't use those (the modern skins) for the Linux players (as mentioned on the previous page). Or maybe one can but not that I know of. Personally I don't...
  9. Re: haaa ... the good ole days of music players....

Audacious can use them too, I include a screenshot of Audacious with the classic Winamp skin. But it's still not the 'real deal', I don't think you get all the functions from Winamp and you can't use...

Sad to read :( Such an import person for free software and indirectly also for Ubuntu.

    Re: Ubuntu Coffee Beans?

Also the old Ubuntu theme (and the forums' theme) was more 'coffee colored' :P They fit the current theme less than the old one but the beans are still awesome.

  14. Re: Question for Dual- Booters (Which OS do you use most)?

Windows updates are a disadvantage with dual booting indeed. I think my ration is 90% *buntu and 10% Windows but it's the total ratio and not monthly. Windows 10 can be left for months and then used...
  15. Re: Do you think PCs will become obsolete in near future ?

For home users traditional desktop (tower) PCs will become obsolete. For professional use (developers and designers for example) I don't think they will in the near future.

  19. Re: Microsoft Windows will be third place by 2017

That is maybe a bit too much :P To each his own but I don't think Windows 10 is that special. 10 is certainly a fine OS from a UI perspective (leaving out the privacy stuff) but to me it's just a...

    Re: Opulent October Sreeen-Shot Thread

Text of the conky seems to be a bit hard to read against the colorful background, otherwise a nice desktop. Unity with a nice wallpaper always looks good.
  21. Re: Download Chromecast Wallpapers using C# and MonoDevelop

Thanks for the script. Maybe a good reason to install Monodevelop. Never tried developing .Net applications on Linux. I'm still learning C# myself but I think that client.Dispose() is not necessary....
  22. Re: Extremely bored of Linux Mint, Ubuntu, what should I use

If you choose easy distros you will always be bored (if you think using a Linux distro should be exciting) :P I haven't used it myself but maybe something like Gentoo is more exciting? I prefer...

Re: Firefox exploit found in the wild

    Happy with the quick update.

Would enabling the AppArmor profile (which I believe is disabled by default) for Firefox provide any protection against such exploits?

    Re: Windows 10 experiences?

I upgraded Windows 8.1 to 10 on my dual boot with Kubuntu 14.04. So far I haven't run into any serious issues. Dual boot is working as before.
