Thanks for this. It was most helpful for my home media server ...
I had to make some changes for my needs though as your method for polling for limited PIDs was always returning null... I ended...
Y510 64bit ... using the lenovo-sky option. Also I am KDE but as of 10.10 KDE moved to Pulseaudio as well so shouldnt be a huge difference there.
Michael,
Your getting no sound at all or...
very strange... Ive had no difference in sound behavior since Lucid. I was an upgrade to Maverick.
yes and dont overlook qBittorrent as well. Its nearly a clone of Utorrent and has a headless version with WebUI :)
Maybe I am misunderstanding something but according to this:

Unread emails are supposed to be contained in new/ .. i.e:...
I started this project for my own use but it has grown into something that I feel is pretty helpful. From the script header:
This script helps you manage your prefixes in a "less is more"...
After further testing adding the digest header is not very reliable but it was worth a shot ;) perhaps I am doing something wrong *shrug*
very nice!!!
I really need to learn some Python..... Im really too bash addicted!! LOL!
Thanks for sharing - I love this little script!
Though I feel from some of the some of the replies that others do not completely see its use...
This script not only generates a random...
I spent days beating my head against the desk trying to make this work so I thought i would share :)
My need was to block everything but localhost access to qbitt's WebUI and make it available...
I agree - Cedega is a complete waste of $$ IMHO. I personally have never found ANYTHING it does better than native wine. MAYBE back in the older days when wine's directX support was not as good...
Copying your wine prefix to another install/machine *should* work. But as noted above youll be missing the menu entries although this isnt exactly a deal breaker.. Infact I think winemenubuilder may...
I forgot to note that the webcam is working perfectly in Lucid without the use of the 3rd party PPA. However it does still require preloading v4l1compat.so
I am happy to report that all seems well with the upcoming release of Lucid. Nice improvement to boot time (its about 15-20sec from grub to desktop for me). Performance seems on par. Pulse/Alsa...
Hrmmm shame about the other problems. Its possible that with some mapping you could get sound from your sub. But getting alsamixer to show it is the 1st step.
I use these mapings in...
does the sub show in alsamixer?
Sometimes its possible to to unload the module and reload but often you will find that the module is in use and cannot be unloaded, therefore a reboot is needed.
Try:
sudo modprobe -r...
I dont know anything about that model but I suspect your fix can be found in playing with the hda-intel module options:
example:
options snd_hda_intel model=6stack-dell
Here is a revised version of the wrapper script to suit 64bit users.
This version makes an attempt at detecting if the specified command is 32 or 64 bit and preloads the correct lib and passes any...
Its been a busy month for me so I havnt had much time to look into this but I can now confirm this 100% working on 64bit Karmic.
The issue for 64bit users is that skype is NOT a 64bit app...
Using a fresh isntall of Karmic x64.. still no dice :(
onemyndseye@onemyndsmobile:~$ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype
ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so' from...
I can confirm this working on x64.... sort of.
Great find none-the-less
My issue:
` LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so cheese ` doesnt work at all. cheese never gets video from...
If you are still interested in filtering for a users torrents I will share my own script. It doesnt have this function but has the stepping stones to get you there ;)
