I had a 12.04 USB persistent install working okay.
WS worried about the auto login so tried to add a user from the GUI. No luck, some error message.
So I used the command line to add a guest...

Thanks for the tips guys. Okay I'll try to use the current live install to make a persistent install on a second USB....Making sure I don't install to the HD!
