If you could post some information about your graphics card and perhaps if you run it from a terminal and paste the output here it would help. The more information you post the better, be as...
Sorry I should have been more specific, I meant quality audio production too :)
I have met a few people who won't switch to Linux until the audio is sorted out. I also see no reason not to have a forum for this, audio is much more import than a lot of people think :)
Yep, you can save the setting in an autoexec.cfg file:
echo "seta in_dgamouse 2" >> ~/.etwolf/etmain/autoexec.cfg
In the console see what "in_dgamouse" is set to, if it's set to 1 or 2 try setting it to 0 and restart ET.
You may need to run it from the command line like so:
et +set in_dgamouse 0

Hi, I thought it was about time I too learned some bash scripting and as I use Easynews' excellent services I thought I'd make something related to that.
As far as I can tell this works as it's...
You can have one of my shipit cds if you still need one, just PM me your address :)
Admittedly it wasn't that easy to find, especially with sourceforge down for maintenance :)
Take a look here: http://linuxorg.sourceforge.net/
On a quick glance it looks like it would do the job :)

For those with an Audigy, or similar 5.1 compatible, card properly set up with ALSA:
quake4 +set s_alsa_pcm surround51 +set s_numberOfSpeakers 6
Should get 5.1 surround working nicely. This...
Now that Quake 4 is out and working on Linux (it's pretty good too!) could we have an official package of the latest XQF please?
I've not had a chance today to try it but I assume QStat will need...
Hmm, it's working fine for me but I can't remember what extra packages I may have installed. Do you have the exact error message?
I'd just like to say thanks to DancingSun for helping out so much on this thread, I'm very busy right now so I can't read the forums as much as I would like. Thanks alot!
Also, the mx510 has ten buttons, not eight. Here they are (in no particular order):

JPEG is better for compressing gradients, It's not free like PNG but you should see a big reduction in file size.
I doubt it's possible considering they have massively used services like msn search and hotmail. It's just a guess but I would think they deal with more traffic per day that slashdot could ever...
Things can move pretty fast in the Open Source world, I think a six month release schedule based around Gnome is fine. It's alot better then the years and years you wait for new versions of Windows ;)
Aha, I learn something new everyday here :)
It looks alright in the daytime too :)

I may not like MS' business practice but some of their hardware is alright.
And now I'll shamelessly plug a picture of my modded xbox, the front LED also goes red and sometimes even purple :D

Welcome, I hope you enjoy ubuntu as much as I do :)
On a side note I wonder why your post count isn't working:

Today I heard about PCSX2 , there is a linux binary and it's GPL'd. The compatability looks low right now for retail games (you can check it on their page). Now all I need to do is try and remember...
Yeah, I should have said that some people have trouble with the ATI drivers :( All I can suggest (as not having an ATI card to test with) is to try again whenever the drivers are updated or seek help...
You could always do something better than ET minimiser ;)
Here is a guide I made that runs ET on a new desktop so you can switch between ET and your desktop easily:
HOW TO: Run games on a new...
