You could try Rescatux. I've used it (and previously Super Grub disk) to fix dual boot issues on Debian and Ubuntu systems and it works a charm.

Adblock Plus and Meerkat. That's about it. Since I use a netbook about 90% of the time, I really don't need a boatload of addons bogging things down.
I get that once in a while, but not a lot. It will occasionally happen when I'm at some event or another handing out CDs or brochures, and once in a while someone will walk up and say something like...
The only place I have really noticed a similar problem is in the "Games" section where the icon titles on the bottom icons have been pushed off the bottom of the screen. I have no idea what is...
Thanks, I'll get her to read this tomorrow. Maybe she'll have calmed down by then.
She didn't lose her data, it's still on the computer. It just got erased from her Touch. Once again, I was just telling a story. That's it, really. It's just that simple. Why do people feel the need...
Don't know if it was an iTunes update or a firmware update (didn't ask), just knew this wasn't the first time in the past year that I happened to walk into the living room when she was yelling at her...
She's pretty P.O.'ed right now, and not too fond of things with an Apple logo on them at the moment. We'll see how she feels tomorrow.
Seriously, I just found it kind of funny that she has been so hard core all these years and now it's kind of biting her in the rear. I realize that anyone can have a problem with any operating...
I think Fedora is a fine distro, always have. It's consistently been in the top five on Distrowatch for quite some time, so I don't see why it should seem so mysterious that it's spiking a little. I...
DISCLAIMER: This is not intended to be a Mac bashing thread, just trying to convey (at least to me) a somewhat amusing story.
My wife has been a long time Mac user (literally almost 20 years), and...
My eye doc said the same thing - just slightly below eye level. He surmised from my description of my work environment that part of my headache/eye problem may have been caused by the monitor sitting...
I dislike the default icon myself. I found some replacement tray icons on gnome-look.org that are much nicer looking, and pretty easy to install.
I'm still adjusting to the new Netbook Remix interface (my habits are so ingrained after having used the old one for almost a year), but all of my hardware seems to work OK so far. In Jaunty I had to...
I get whatever frames my insurance will let me afford. Frames can be surprisingly expensive, and since my wife is no longer employed I don't get too much latitude when it comes to being picky about...
Yup, sure do. Have for the last three years or so. After my job moved me to working at a desk more, a couple of years later my eye doc recommended I get glasses just for computer work because I was...
I don't think you have to completely disable Maximus altogether if you don't want to. I believe there is a setting in gconf editor where you can disable this behavior on a per application basis (i.e....
Man, these threads are multiplying like bunnies! This at least the fifth or sixth one on the same topic I've seen this evening. :p
I've been telling myself to just go to sleep and check in the morning, but I find myself picking up my netbook every hour or so to see if it's up yet. It's like waiting for Christmas morning twice a...
I've tried all the alphas and the current beta and it's worked fine so far without any manual configuration on my part (knock on wood). The most recent kernels seem to have resolved the issues with...
I know the feeling, since I have different people on the two platforms who all want copies of the same presentation sometimes. I still use OpenOffice, but if I make presentations that will be viewed...
Hey, MaX. I can't imagine that it's hiding in a place too different than the netbook launcher is on UNR, so if I were able find the interface files would you know how to package them for different...
Uh, yep. Sure is. Thank you, Captain Obvious. So, what's that statement supposed mean? Was that meant to be an answer to somebody's question or something? Did you accidentally post in the...
