[ubuntu] Re: HP Mini (1000) Mi Series

Has anyone wiped the default OS and installed vanilla Ubuntu, without an external CD drive?

At work, we use the Christie P32GPS. Not sure it's what you're looking for, though. :P

    Re: Myspace crashes Firefox.

Myspace is horrible, bloated crap...but no website should be able to crash a browser. If Firefox lets a page crash the app, it's not doing its job.

Myspace runs on IIS on Windows. Why is it...

Re: Serenity was a great friggin' movie.

It has come to my attention that we have fifteen (!) Serenity posters at work and we're losing the movie Friday, meaning we don't need them anymore. Anyone want one or two? (I can only send a...

    Re: A Sign From God

I've seen that page numerous times in Slashdot comments. It's kind of a running gag, like the Netcraft 'BSD is dead!' spam. Who in his right mind would write such an article is another matter...

    Re: Performance

I had this problem right after the Breezy preview came out. An upgrade a few days later solved the problem for me.

Building a website powered by pyblosxom on OpenBSD 3.8-current under chroot'ed Apache 1.3.x. I'll post soon when it's ready. Not Linux, but still a Freenix.

I haven't seen Firefly yet, either, but I am sure the box set will not disappoint me when it arrives. (Hurry up, Amazon!)

    Re: cool desktop apps

And here I thought Spielberg was making that crap up as he went along! Seeing a cutsey 3D rendering of a filesystem is a long way from the c-shell prompt I am used to when I think of 'Unix'. I...

Re: A lighter alternative to Thunderbird

It's got nice features and it's portable, but I would hardly call any program whose widgets are rendered by Java 'light'. ;)

I am with the original author. I want a light graphical email client...

Poll: Re: When will you upgrade to Dapper?

I'll dist-upgrade from Breezy when either a preview release or an RC is released. It worked for Warty, Hoary, and now Breezy, so I've been happy with the results thus far.

Re: What good film have you seen this year?

Re: Serenity was a great friggin' movie.

This was one of the best movies I have seen in years, and easily the best I've seen in 2005. As a manager at a movie theatre, I see lots of movies, so I think I'm qualified to say how much posterior...
