By the way, you can't change LsiLogic to BusLogic when the virtual disk has been created. You have to do that before creating the disk.

In a terminal, I typed in

sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys status

And it returned with

Status of Common Unix Printing System: cupsd is not running but /var/run/cups/cupsd.pid exists.

Installed Vmware Workstation 6.0.4 under WinXP.
Installed Ubuntu 8.04 as guest OS.
Installed Vmware Tools okay.

Parallel port is passed onto Ubuntu by Vmware and is shown as available under VM...
