    Sounds more like a hardware problem then a software. You should check if this happens in a live CD too? or on different operation system.

    When you start your Virtual Machine there is a Menu of the Machine itself. One of the sub-menus is Devices -> Drag-n-Drop or Devices -> Shared Clipboard !

    In the most recent Virtual Machines there is option for copy/paste from HOST to GUEST only or bidirectional. When you are in the Virtual Machine, just click on Devices and you will find it.

    What you actually do is just open an terminal with the Ctrl+Alt+F1. Do you remember what was the username that you have input during the installation (Not your name but the username)....
