here is the documentation for 11.10 Oneiric on your MBP.
It looks like everything is working.
do you have to power off and back on for it to come back or you can switch screens to a terminal prompt?
are you looking for it to power on and boot at a certain time or just wake from sleep at a certain time?
did you replace the "quiet nosplash" with "nomodeset" in the boot parameters?
This looks like the correct procedure for archLinux

probably just need to replace the pacman -Sy with apt-get install
not as simple as installing windows since bootcamp takes care of all that, however it is fairly simple. Only took me about 20 minutes to get my Air all setup and running.
you can also checkout https://launchpad.net/backintime
sudo apt-get install backintime-common backintime-gnome
you can also mount your Airport Extreme / Time Capsule using...
Have you checked out http://code.google.com/p/flyback/
I don't think backups of a system are as important now as most of us are using "cloud" storage for all of our files.
is it only in skype or in any other applications?
Do you have the same user name in all 3 OS's? Usually when you pair the device it names the device "username's mouse". Your other os will see this device as a new mouse unless they match up.
mine does that also but it corrects itself after a second and prompts for the password.
maybe try running just the i915 script?
wget -Nq http://www.almostsure.com/mba42/fix-i915.sh...
Was able to test out my Magic Mouse. I was able to left click, right click and scroll but none of the gestures that work on my MacBooks trackpad worked.
I have a Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad at home, when I get there later I will try them both out and report back.
I used UNetBootin to create my USB key. Just pointed it to the iso.
To prep for the install, I used disk utility to shrink my OSX parititon and left the new space as free.
You probably need to install refit first since Mac's use EFI not Bios to boot. Then you can boot the install disk, try adding "nomodeset" to the kernel parameters. This resolved the black screen for...
I setup my MBA 64gb with 50 to OS-X and 14 to Ubuntu. 3 of that 14 being a swap. Still have about 5gb left with everything I need loaded up.
You can run it in a VM to test it out if you want. It is probably easier to install rEFIt and use that to select the usb drive to boot from. You can use http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ to create...
I installed rEFIt first, then used Disk Utility to shrink my current install and left the new area empty. Then I used a usb drive to boot the Ubuntu install and selected use free space.
Basically Apple offers the whole package. OS X is a very nice operating system. With a Mac and OS X if you have a problem you only need to call Apple who is very prompt to fix / repair the issue....
I can't get my touchpad to work when using xf86-input-mtrack. It seems to work okay when I re-ran the script and selected touchegg. Is there anything I am missing by not using mtrack?
did you try going to system settings and turning up the speed? It is set pretty low by default.
You can also install from Pointing Devices from the Ubuntu store and modify the speed there.
