Congrats on the new release!
Sadly for me, whereas Bumblebee worked flawlessly for me *before* the update, now it does not. I assume it is either the change away from the ACPI calls, or else away...
I had the same experience (Kubuntu 10.04 dist-upgrade to 10.10). I cannot recall what the packages were that failed to download. I will report back the exact boot error messages later this evening....
Anyone know how to modify this script for KDE?
I'm assuming all of those GNOME/GTK references aren't applicable for KDE/Kubuntu?
Thanks in advance!
I use an 8310. Have a related question or issue we can help with?
Funny you should say that, since synching most smart phones (including BlackBerries) in Windows doesn't work "out of the box" either.
Unless you include "running the hardware manufacturer's CD to...
Reading through the barry-devel archives, they seem to be pretty good about helping people through the difficult parts such as compiling. I know some other people have had your same problem, so you...
I'm not sure why a kernel update would impact the process.
The only thing I can think of is an issue with bcharge and needing to blacklist a process in the kernel (outside my area of expertise)....
I would *strongly* recommend using the barry-devel mailing list for hardware-related issues. The list members have the best expertise in getting any particular hardware to work.
I did some hunting...
I haven't yet. One day, when I get the chance to build a linux box, I'm going to play around with more things - including some form of VM.
Please let me know; I'd love to know if it works. I've noticed that the OpenSync plugins aren't terribly well-documented at times, so I have no idea if it will even work.
I'll have my follow-up...
theZoid, I have written a follow-up guide for synchronizing KDE-PIM with Google Calendar using the OpenSync google calendar plugin.
Let me know if it works/helps!
Oh man! I completely forgot to include installation of MultiSync! I've fixed that now. (I also found the mis-spelling of "group" and fixed, as well.)
Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to hear that...
It might take a while. Let it complete; it will either say "successful" or else "error" (or similar).
If KitchenSync indicates that the sync was successful, yet you still can't see your contacts...
Hmm, I know that when I first started using KDE-PIM, I imported a couple thousand contacts, and then didn't see them in Kontact. I didn't realize that "Filter: Unfiled" meant un-categorized contacts....
Zoid, see my previous post; I think our posting is out of sync (pun intended).
Do you have a filter applied to your contacts in Kontact? In the upper-right-hand corner, ensure that "Filter" is set to "None".
Beyond that, I'm not sure. I've not gotten very far with...
Yes, I sync with KDE-PIM (Kontact, Kmail, Kalendar, etc.).
I can't find an official OpenSync plugin for Thunderbird, but did find something called blueZync, which purports to act as a...
theZoid, please do report back and let me know if it was helpful! I'll be happy to add/revise based on suggestions.
I have my BlackBerry 8310 synchronizing with KDE-PIM in Kubuntu Hardy. You need to use Barry and OpenSync. Here are step-by-step instructions.
Let me know if they are helpful, or if you have any...
I, too, used that Linux.com article as a starting point, but it is a little bit out-of-date.
I have my BlackBerry synching with KDE-PIM in Kubuntu Hardy; here are step-by-step instructions. (Not...
I have my BB Curve synchronizing with KDE-PIM. Here are step-by-step instructions.
I noticed that the synch groups and synch group member configuration files are found not in usr/share/opensync...
Good news: synchronizing a BlackBerry with Ubuntu is not only possible, but actually not all that difficult (if I can figure it out, I've no doubt anyone else can, too :) ).
Here's a how-to I...
I know I'm late to the party on this thread, but in case it helps anyone, I have written a how-to on synchronizing a BlackBerry with Kubuntu Hardy.
Please let me know if you find it helpful, or if...
Anyone have any experience with Ubuntu 7.04 and Thunderbird 2.0? I have it *almost* working, but not quite.
First, the relevant background:
HDD partitions:
hda2: WinXP (C:), NFTS
hda3:...
This worked for me!
I've got Feisty installed as part of a dual-boot system: Gateway MX6445 (custom Best Buy machine, I think) laptop, AMD64 Turion, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, with the Broadcom 4318...
