Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

Whoops! That's a bug in my script - I didn't update the path for 4.06. ((It only affects users who don't have "syslinux.tar.gz" already cached in multicd's folder.) It should be fixed now.

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

The "alternate" ISO images are the ones that use the text-based installer. ("server" images use that installer as well.) You can only have one of these Ubuntu text-based installers on a single disc,...

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

I've never tested Ubuntu Server until just now. But it looks like if you name the ISO "ubuntu-alternate.iso", it will work!
(I'll also edit ubuntu-alternate.sh so it can find the regular ISO...

    Re: multiple Ubuntu minimal mini.isos

The script doesn't have a way to use more than one mini.iso (unless it's one for Ubuntu and one for Debian - those are separate.) You can, however, include NetbootCD, or just copy the ubuntu-mini.sh...

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

I don't think there is a -b switch. Maybe it was a typo?
These are all the switches in multicd.sh:

    -c) shift;export MD5=true;;
    -d) shift;export DEBUG=true;;
    -i) shift;export...

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

I changed a line in ubuntu-alternate.sh. Try it now & see if it works.

lkraemer: I'll look into those things soon.

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

ubuntu-12.04-alternate-i386.iso seems to work for me. I updated the script to support xubuntu alternate as well, so try again and see if you get the same error.
By the way, if you have more than one...

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

To the last three posters: unfortunately I am unable to duplicate any of the issues you are having, so I won't be able to fix them.
I will look at some of those hard drive tools and see if I can add...

    Re: NetbootCD

Thanks for the information! I'm sure someone will find it handy.
I haven't tested your instructions but you might be able to get the same effect by starting with the CorePlus+NetbootCD boot option...

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

Looks like the SYSLINUX problem people on the last page were having. Xubuntu should be supported.

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

Use the -i option with multicd, and it should let you give each Ubuntu ISO its own name.

I updated the nbscript.sh to add an option for 64-bit CentOS/ScientificLinux. Press "download" and then see if it works.

It will be fixed in the newest version on the git repository (once I can upload it). Thanks.

    Re: NetbootCD

NetbootCD 4.6 is out. The floppy version is fixed, Scientific Linux 6 and CentOS 6 are now supported, and it should work with UNetbootin now (I put kexec in nbinit4.gz.)

    Also, I'm now posting...

    Re: NetbootCD

I fixed CentOS and added support for Scientific Linux. Use the "download" option on the main menu.

@ascent1729: NetbootCD 4.5 needs multiple initrds. I never thought it would mess up unetbootin....

    Re: NetbootCD

For #1, I assume the default server doesn't work for some reason. For #2, I'm not sure, but maybe the command-line syntax has changed. I should look into both of these.

    In other news, there's a...

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

Version 6.8 is out, it has lots of bugfixes.

@buttate_la_pasta: I don't have that version of Hiren's, and I probably won't have the time soon to get to supporting it.

    Re: NetbootCD

Thanks! You might want to know that I did not consider RAM at all when writing that new .cfg loader script. :P So anythng with multiple initrds needs a lot more RAM to load from within NetbootCD.

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

Arch Linux netboot ISOs work in the git repo version now. (You can name the dual-arch version "archdual.iso" or just keep the default name "archlinux-2011.08.19-netinstall-dual.iso".)

I've released NetbootCD 3.5. See the "Notes" section of the website for information. Version 4.0 isn't technically obselete - it still works just fine.

Re: multicd.sh - combine Linux ISOS into one

It's not because of the bug; I just haven't gotten around to adding it.

I'm not sure. I'll have to check.

    Re: NetbootCD

You need both kexec support in the kernel AND a kexec binary. It's silly :)
I think with the next NetbootCD version, I'll add an option to the NetbootCD menu that lets you run a custom script. The...

Just curious - what does your kexec script look like? Is it different depending on what you're booting?

    Re: NetbootCD

I suppose I could make a tcz file for kexec, but it wouldn't help that much because the regular Tiny Core kernel doesn't support kexec. I'll probably just add kexec to the tinycore.gz on tc+nb.iso,...
