    Re: byobu auto startup sh

I think the best way for that is the old rc.local file. It's read and executed at boot. You probably have to create it - /etc/rc.local

    More about it here:...

Re: Recover disk space when NOTHING works

Did you try a forced disk check at boot? There's obviuosly something wrong with the filestructure.

    The command is: touch /forcefsck

  9. Re: can hardware from 1991 still work on today's Linux kernel

The big question will be RAM memory. Some old motherboards will not support bigger RAM modules. But without a GUI you can go a long way.

  13. Re: linuxtoday.com not accessible from Sweden?

I just got thru! Yayy! Will see if it holds out...

PS Mailed linuxtoday at their site about this. Hope they come back to me.
  14. Re: linuxtoday.com not accessible from Sweden?

Niether 8.8.8.8 nor 1.1.1.1 worked. Pinging does not work either (but that could be blocked in other ways I guess)
  15. Re: linuxtoday.com not accessible from Sweden?

Changing DNS didn't help. Pinging or trying to surf directly to IP (70.42.23.51) does not work either.
  16. Re: linuxtoday.com not accessible from Sweden?

Yeah, the error response takes a long time, so it might be they're having server problems. But I'll try some other DNS servers too.

Thanks! Then I don't have to worry too much yet! I've come across several US sites that was blocking visitors from EU since GDPR, but they often had the courtesy of telling what they did. Some of...

  20. [ubuntu] Re: Cannot disable automatic update check (Software Updater)

In the link there are two ways of disabling automatic updates: https://www.garron.me/en/linux/turn-off-stop-ubuntu-automatic-update.html

I have it disabled too but I run manual updates everyday.
  21. Re: How to simply setup and connect to Ethernet connection please?

I stand corrected. I've never used for standard wired, so there you go.
  22. Re: How to simply setup and connect to Ethernet connection please?

"802.1x Security" is for wireless (wifi) only. You go by wired (ethernet cable with RJ45 plugs standard) you say, so it should work out of the box with a standard router.

That is to say, if your...

I assume the HDD's you try to mount are NTFS.
