Hey all,
I posted this in the community forums, but I realize now I should have posted it here in the game forum. Just wanted to give a shout out to this amazing game. I played it recently and was...
Also, wanted to add: play this game with the lights off and a great set of headphones. The sound design is amazing. The whole vibe of the game is so creepy!
Hey everyone,
Just played an incredible game released native to Linux call 'Kentucky Route Zero'. Has anyone else had a chance to play this? It's not for everyone, I admit, as the pacing is a...
Since I've owned this laptop I have not been able to get rid of a faint, yet incredibly annoying buzz during audio playback. Does anyone else have this problem? Have they found a solution? It's...
Hmm. Yeah, to be perfectly honest I may have jumped the gun about the fan spinning down. I have left it overnight a few times and then found the fan off in the morning, but I have never actually...
What type of wireless card do you have? For my Intel Wifi 5300, I was able to turn on wireless power management via:
sudo iwconfig wlan0 power on
The fan is still slow to respond to changes...
You can try the following, which rebuilds everything from scratch:
Try deleting the gnome-shell directory and pulling it from scratch. When I tried it, the build phase was still flakey, and only worked after several attempts.
make sure to also install git-core
Here is the Emacs Wiki: http://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/XftGnuEmacs
Note that emacs doesn't use anti-aliased fonts by default. You have to explicitly tell it to use an anti-aliased font (like...
The great thing about emacs is how utterly extensible it is. For example here is one of my favourite modes that provides IDE functionality: Emacs Code Browser
If Xresources is too much trouble, you can also set your font in your .emacs file with the following two lines:
The first line sets the default font for all frames, while the second line sets...
I take it you tried restarting nautilus (first "nautilus -q", then "nautilus")? And also restarting the computer?
I just don't see how those two commands would screw up your desktop. Certainly you shouldn't have to delete all those gnome settings. Is it possible that something else is hogging your CPU? npviewer...
From the Debian APT HOWTO:
Is glmatrix still running? You could try "killall glmatrix".
Gstreamer has the potential to do this. Unfortunately the implementation for video streaming changes depending on what you want to stream (ie: screencast, file, etc...), and so far only a limited...
This doesn't make any sense. The two urns model is not applicable because at no point in history did we choose between "two possible human races".
Have you tried sshfs? http://fuse.sourceforge.net/sshfs.html
It allows you to mount shares locally via ssh. Then you can use whatever file browser you like best. sshfs is in the Ubuntu repos.
Add the following PPA to your software sources:
https://launchpad.net/~handbrake-ubuntu/+archive/ppa
and then build-dep against the intrepid handbrake packages. I have not tested this against...
Ok. So after experimenting with Jaunty, it seems that they've made some improvements to the wireless module.
Turning on the wireless power management:
sudo iwconfig wlan0 power on
finally...
After installing Jaunty, my wireless card is being properly reported as a Wifi 5300, and not a 5100, as with Intrepid. I guess that solves that mystery.
Unfortunately, the fan issue has not gone...
What about the replicator? Talk about a versatile solution for modern living.
This isn't an argument.
Just upgraded to the new version. Phenomenal work Tom.
It's evident that there's been a big improvement on sequence-of-line-segment stroke recognition. With the previous algorithm it frequently...
