  1. [all variants] Re: How to losslessly convert OGA to something that can be tagged?

    I believe that happens automagically if you specify a .opus filename and the source audio is an opus stream.
  2. [all variants] Re: How to losslessly convert OGA to something that can be tagged?

    Then just extract the audio out of the webm file with ffmpeg, and you end up with opus inside ogg container, which can handle metadata/tag easily:

    ffmpeg -i something.webm something.opus...

    Re: Should NVIDIA be avoided?

    Well, there's no seamless switching "Optimus" support in Linux.

    Re: Nvidia / GPU Video Acceleration

    You're still using a VA-API->VDPAU wrapper in the browser, so it's not surprising there's some overhead there. It's not going to play as efficiently as native VDPAU. The question is whether it's...

  6. [all variants] Re: Sound driver? issue with "Crosshair VII hero Wifi" motherboard

    The best suggestions I can give are to look at settings in alsamixer, and testing a newer kernel to see if things are better there:

    Intel created the HDA/"Azalia" standard, so the driver is named after them. snd-hda-intel is the correct module.

    [SOLVED] Re: OpenGL 3.0 but Need 3.1

    On second thought, it's probably not a good idea to do that, as it may affect other programs depending on how they check the OpenGL version.

    [SOLVED] Re: OpenGL 3.0 but Need 3.1

    You're welcome. Assuming a one user system, you can make it permanent:

    echo "export MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.1COMPAT" | tee -a ~/.bashrc

    [SOLVED] Re: OpenGL 3.0 but Need 3.1

    For some reason, the program insists on using OpenGL compatibility profile instead of core profile. You can try faking it:

    MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.1COMPAT wine <path to sketchup.exe>
