OK, I've took the plunge and bought the Workforce 2835 and downloaded the driver from your website. Problem is that I get something called an image scan bundle containing: 'Core' a folder, 'Plugins',...
Thanks Coffeecat, you are right, I am considering buying the Epson. I have had no luck with printers since getting 20.04. I want an ink jet suitable for home use and preferably one which will work...
Problem!! The link to the drivers doesn't work: I don't have permission...
Thank you, I'll give it a go and post results later.
The title says it all - does anybody know?
Thank you, that seems to have done the trick, no errors reported.
Forget my last post, I figured it out and here it is:
user@user-MS-7721:~$ sudo apt update
[sudo] password for user:
Hit:5 http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu focal InRelease ...
Thanks. Problem: I can't copy the content of the terminal, the 'Copy' option is greyed out. Ctrl, Shift, C doesn't work either.
Forget this, I've figured it out...
Thanks, I can run the commands no probs but can you remind me how to post the output on here - sorry for the dumb question...
As title: it asks me to check my internet connection - which is fine. It is trying and failing to download 'Ubuntu base' 191kB
Any ideas?
That was much quicker and no Microsoft page this time. Synaptic shows it as installed this time.
Thanks Deadflowr
I'll give her another go.
This?
dpkg -l| grep restricted
ii ubuntu-restricted-addons 26 amd64 Commonly used restricted packages for Ubuntu
Thanks, it seems to have worked ok this time, that end user page is a pain, I've never had to tab and arrow before and hope I got it right. At any rate, the 'error' icon has gone.
Thanks to all.

Ok, I've updated and upgraded and it asked me if I wanted to continue and I typed y and it's back to installing restricted extras. Fine, but it's back at the Microsoft warning page, (end user...
Thanks for the above, here is the output:
sudo] password for user:

Setting up libmspack0:amd64 (0.10.1-2) ...
Setting up libaribb24-0:amd64...
It says "command not found"? I copied and pasted it from your post above to make sure of no errors.
As above, I was installing Ubuntu restricted extras through the terminal when the process was interrupted; my fault I think. It got to the part where Microsoft was laying down the law about use of...
Thank you walts48, problem solved.
I prefer to use Duck Duck Go as my search engine but I can't figure out how to set it as my default on Firefox... help?
Thanks, I'll have a look.
Edit: Just found it and installed with Synaptic, works just like it did before. Thank you deadflowr.
When I was running 14.04 Trusty, I was able to right click on the image file and there was a 'Resize' option; dead easy to use... Now I have 20.04 and this option is no longer there. Can I reinstate...
I have installed gparted and pmount and with Kindle connected and gparted open there is no mention of the Kindle. Icon for Kindle does show in the Dash.
I don't have gparted installed but I could install it with the synaptic. 'whatever' etc is another placeholder? In my case I should type /media/user/Kindle...?
Is pmount part of gparted or as you...
