I installed Ubuntu 11.04 yesterday. As I type
gedit filename
to edit a file, two warnings were displayed:

I faced similar problems with lam4-dev.
Install OpenMPI. It should work smoothly.
type: locate libpython
and check where your python library files are located. also check the versions in sim.extra, sim-sf.extra, sim-fast.extra files under /opt/tinyos-2.1.1/support/make folder

it is a path problem, all you need to find out is the python path...
you must have python 2.6.6 in maverick. you might want to look at this

open synaptic manager and type 'tinyos'. you'll find a list of files.
select tinyos-2.1.1 (which automatically select other bunch of files) and mark for installation.
that should work.
I now understand why there are partial upgrades. however important services like network manager must not be removed in any kind of upgrades!

yeah looking back, I think my message didn't convey enough but it's fixed now. even i was preparing for the worst!
good part is wireless is back again after I rebooted, yay!

I installed WICD to handle wireless networks and as I rebooted Ubuntu, default networking icon displayed!

I included two lines in /etc/network/interfaces
auto eth0
iface eth0 net dhcp
and wired internet started working!
problem with wireless internet remains though.
I added just two lines:
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
to existing
auto l0
iface l0 inet loopback
