Hi,
I've been happily using my USB DAC for a long time, and recently it stopped working possibly after an Ubuntu update, but I'm not certain. It is a Schitt Modi DAC, and has previously been...
That makes sense. If I switch ports and the config files become garbled, then I should inspect the sound configuration file (perhaps: /etc/pulse/client.conf ? )
Thank you so much for your help. I ended up solving the problem inadvertently: I had been meaning to upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10, so last night I ran the standard distribution upgrade through...
Thank you for the advice. I tried it on another port and immediately checked dmesg:

I've been reading and searching the forums and found lots of good information, and I really hoping someone can suggest something new for me to check/inspect/fix. First of all: The goal is to use a...
FIXED IT!!!! The problem is the sliding bar in the Scaling Options somehow defaulted to a non-zero percentage. By changing it to zero, the image fits the screen. Thank you very much for helping...

Confirmed that those items are indeed checked.

I've been trying different drivers. How can I determine which one is currently in use?
In Catalyst Control Center the Xinerama box is grayed out because I "currently have only one desktop enabled". Not sure what this means. I do not desire cloned monitors, but rather a big single...
I must have messed up the copy/paste somehow. So embarrassing! Here is the current version:

I'm having trouble with a second monitor in a fresh installation of 12.04LTS. I'm on a desktop with an ATI Radeon 7500 and I have two identical LG monitors that each support 1920x1080. The...
Hi,
I'm also having trouble with a second monitor in a fresh installation of 12.04LTS. I'm on a desktop with an ATI Radeon 7500 and I have two identical LG monitors that each support 1920x1080. ...
After reading several other posts about this, it really seems to boil down to being able to trick a single X screen into pretending there are three monitors. Recall I am in Twinview, so that NVIDIA...
I'm basically trying to do the same thing right now. Did you ever find a satisfactory solution? If not, I am looking into Fake Xinerama right now, which looks promising so far.
Hi Everyone,
I've searched and read these forums for HowTo's on setting up external monitors, but I'm still having a very hard time getting my set up to configure correctly. It ALMOST works, but...
I am experiencing this too. Has anyone figured out where to look to get more information why it was killed? Thanks!
Thank you guys for posting. I put a little script in /X11/Xsession.d/ to run some commands after log in and it worked great on 11.04.
I had trouble getting my MacbookPro with 11.04 on it to...
