  1. Just in case anyone else is trying this.

I found out that the Linux kernel can't handle multiple graphics drivers simultaneously yet. So anything requiring two different drivers won't work.

But to my surprise adding an extra monitor to...
  2. Can't use new Radeon and onboard simultaniously

Can I have FGLRX for my main, and Radeon or Vesa for my secondary?
If not, can I have both on the open source Radeon driver?

The exact cards in question are Radeon 6970 and Radeon 3000.

    If I...

If you are running Unity you may double your framerate by swtching to Unity 2D.
  4. [ubuntu] Is there a qick way to log out of a session and log in again in a different DE

Hi Im using Unity, but unfortunately 3D games run slow with unity, so I must frequently log out and log in again under a lighter DE.

Re: Oh good, another IE market share thread!

I suppose most are more willing to believe statistics that confirm beliefs already held.

But I have never seen a thread where either good or bad stats from one single site has been held as gospel....

Re: Oh good, another IE market share thread!

You may be right, but it could as well be the other way round, if you are experimenting with the possibilities of the Internet, you are much more likely to use an alternative to IE.

    People that...

Re: Oh good, another IE market share thread!

I think IE peaked in 2003 with more than 90%.
It's been downhill since Mozilla was open sourced.

It's sad that a far superior free alternative has not been able to become dominant.
    But...

    Re: rpms and managers

There used to be a lot of complaints about RPM.
It sucked at handling dependencies, but AFAIK it should be much better now.

Sometimes debs made for Debian or another version of Ubuntu don't work...

    Poll: Re: future of ubuntu

Synaptic is ridiculously good, super fast and super easy to use.

    Re: BIOS finally getting replaced?

Thanks for the info, too bad it's probably some custom Fujitsu thing.

I don't think it's much about the amount of advanced hardware, but rather the amount of single threaded 16 bit code, that just...

  18. Re: India to sell $35 dollar Linux Tablet, competes with Ipad

My point was that this device has 3G and cost about 35$ to make for the entire device.
While Apple charge 130$ extra just for the 3G option.
  19. Re: India to sell $35 dollar Linux Tablet, competes with Ipad

I read somewhere it has 3G, is that true? Because the Ipad is $130 extra with 3G, makes you think doesn't it? :P
