[ubuntu] Re: Intel GMA X4500HD woes (Intel G45 Chipset)

Has anybody been able to get the graphics working on Hardy?

I have a P5Q-EM motherboard and the ethernet driver is incredibly flaky in Intrepid, pretty much non-usable (but it works in Hardy).

[all variants] X4500 graphics in Hardy?

    Hi,

Does anybody know of a way to get Intel's X4500 graphics to work in Hardy? I've found solutions for Intrepid, but none for Hardy.

    Thanks!

[ubuntu] Re: Intel GMA X4500HD woes (Intel G45 Chipset)

    Found a temporary solution. Add

    Option "NoAccel"

to your device section in /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Unfortunately it's only a temporary fix, because performance is terrible without acceleration....

I have the same problem with my new p5q-em motherboard (x4500 graphics). System freezes on startup.

    Any ideas?

    Re: Ubuntu Dells ARE HERE!!!

I just ordered the Dell Ubuntu laptop (for my grandma! ;)). I was surprised to see that the final configuration was more than $100 cheaper than equivalent computer with Vista. That is very fair.
