My work around was to install 10.04 and install the drivers for the AMD card, then upgrade, run recovery mode do reconfigure video drivers, reboot
worked, upgraded to 11.04 then reinstalled AMD...

I got the same issue, Aspire 7560-Sb416 black screen on boot, the LED back light doesnt even turn on. I have to use ubuntu 10.04 just to get it on.

sudo apt-get install sendmail




it will remove postfix and it works for reinstalling it
im not trying to use exim4 though so if you are then my fix might not work for you.

I Agree I have this same laptop and would like to see a working config file for this solution.

For the reinstall can you reinstall the server without formating the drive? I dont have the time to wait for the server to move everything from /var to an alt location.

I think some one should make a script to fix this i can think of a way to do this in php put handling the errors would be tough for php to do.

I have read alot of things where it was a security issue for php to be able to run as root, but your script here looks like its would do exactly what i need.
