    Sorry, i followed dome threads that basically cleaned out/removed any residue from the proprietary drivers and basically sets you up for a clean install of the ATI Linux flavor of the HD3xxx driver....

    The utilization (total of 2gig of ram) still climbs to about 75-80%, nothing on swap, when sound and sometimes the entire vlc app and the screensaver (and sometimes the desktop image) just go away......
