  3. Re: error "invalid or corrupt kernel image" and md5 wrong

    Welcome to the forums!

Use a Bitorrent client like U-Torrent to re-download the iso.
If the new iso doesn't work, then try using something else other than Unetbootin (it failed 5 times for me...

    Re: Open source

You would have to reverse engineer and decompile the proprietary executable, which would be highy illegal and probably violate at least 35 laws (give or take a few 30). Then, you would be able to...

Re: I really like the Ribbon interface

    Well actually....

I prefer the ribbon interface as I find searching through File, Edit, Help... more clumsy and less eefficient. Honestly.
And I am horrified to see that Linuxers seem to love...
  7. [ubuntu] Re: The discontinuation of Linux Ubuntu 10.04LTS in 168 hours

You wont get security patches and bug fixes if you continue using 10.04 AFAiK. Also, you can get rid of the scrolly thing on the left in 12.04 (I presume you mean Unity) by logging into Gnome Classic...

Re: Why I will stay with Ubuntu

Peripheral Visionary - I think the OP has gotten confused.

PCLinuxOS has nothing to do with 'PC' (as in Windows) - infact, it is a separate Linux distro (see here: http://www.pclinuxos.com/).

It might help to post the error you get when you try to boot in to windows.
  13. Re: Linux Mint does not appear in the bootloader

Check if there is a LinuxMint folder in your C:/ dirve (or the drive with windows on it)

Also, can you post the output of update-grub please?
  16. Re: Thunar: Cannot Find or Create Trash Directory

Thanks for the quick reply, and yes I can.

Annoyingly, I can actually delete folders, just not files.

EDIT: I have found a temporary solution - to delete a file, I can place it inside a...

My problem is that they're getting overused IMO and I was wondering if there is something which can look just as good and be just as useful. ( Obviously there is Synapse and GnomeDo ).

    Docks are Old.

Is anyone else starting to think that docks (Docky, AWN, Cairo-dock etc) are become...tiring? OS X has one, Windows (sort of) has one, Unity (technically) has one as does Gnome and Xfce (by default)....
