Re: No VAAPI/opengl after 12.04 upgrade

I read somewhere the frglx AMD/ATI driver overwrites the system libgl with a proprietary one, that seems to be the main cause for the effect (no working opengl etc.) for the OP.

    The frglx driver...

    Re: Mythbuntu + XBMC

    Out of curiosity:
What does XBMC better than the corresponding Myth components?
Or what additional features do you get with XBMC?

Never used XBMC yet and I wonder if i miss something there.
  4. Re: Losing video signal when AV receiver is off?

Hm i would guess it is more likely a hardware problem like an electrical ground loop or may be even a dying PSU.
  5. Re: update manager crashes - possible mythtv problem

May be try upgrading to 0.24 instead of wipe+reinstall?

    Re: Lost Fanart

Probably a problem with Jamu's maintenance or janitor function, http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Jamu#Regular_Maintenance

If you download the metadata manually in the frontend anyway you may want to...

[SOLVED] Re: Distorted music after upgrade to 10.10

Did you try to manually increase the buffer size as suggested in the log? (even with sr 44.1k)

You may better ask on the MythTV mailing list where the mythtv audio dev participates:...

[SOLVED] Re: Distorted music after upgrade to 10.10

Just a wild guess but can you set the samplerate to 48000 instead of 44100?
  9. Re: Is it possible to use a PDA as an IR Blaster?

If you can run lirc on the pda you should be able to control it via wifi/bluetooth from mythtv.
  10. [SOLVED] Re: Allowing Mythweb connection over the internet

Make sure you have enabled MythWeb on your Lan-interface - by default it is only enabled on loopback interface(127.0.0.1) afaik.

    Re: MythTV database recovery

It rather seems the backed up DB is from an older version.

Which MythTV version did you run before the crash?

You might have to install an older version to restore the DB and then update to...

    What's the reasoning for that?
  13. [SOLVED] Re: filenames with Umlauts are not visible/listed

Glad you solved the problem (solution is setting the right locale before mounting) - just make sure mythbackend is not started before locale is set or mythvideo won't find your files with Umlauts...
  14. [SOLVED] Re: filenames with Umlauts are not visible/listed

Any good reason not to upgrade to a more recent version?

If those files dont even show up with ls it is not a problem with the "myth" part of mythbuntu ;-) But i wonder if they dont show up at...

Re: Clean install with database transfer

Mytharchive is included in mythbuntu - you will find it under CD/DVD menu entry in the frontend since it originally was intended to backup to DVDs.

DB must be converted therefore you should...

Re: Clean install with database transfer

I did this with MythArchive http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/MythArchive - the created raw/native archives contain all metadata and can be imported back in fresh install.

Re: Ripping DVD's to ISO files

AFAIK there is no tool to bypass those copy protection schemes on linux to rip the whole DVD like Daemon Tools on windows.

You should be able to rip the seperate video tracks with with VLC though....
  19. Re: Hoe to watch mythtv files (i.e. 2091_20090929200000.mpg) not in database?

    Re: Backend update question

Re: Is a Hotel setup possible

That would be multicast and i am pretty sure MythTV does not support this - so every FE will get it own copy.

You should take a look at the VideoLan project which basically did something similar:...

    Re: Organizing files in MythVideo

Not the most elegant solution but you could symlink all files from videos1 in videos

    ln -s /var/lib/mytthv/videos1/* /var/lib/mytthv/videos

and just have the videos directory configured.

[SOLVED] Re: Can't enter 'DVB Device Number'
