Attached quick review of Installation/FromUSBStick/tmp for discussion. (I hope)
    Some items may be unpractical.
  2. Re: Can't get Ubuntu to boot live from disk on older laptop

Puppy Linux is small, full featured and fun.
    The spec's are minimal.
The large number of release options might be confusing.

  5. Re: do you use live distros often and why.

I use a Live USB to install an OS.

Otherwise I use a Full install to USB or internal disk.
    - A full install is faster,
    - More secure,
    - Can use proprietary drivers,
    - Can use encryption,
    -...

Re: Howto make USB boot drives

    I tried today's version of mkusb-plug.
If it would put a shortcut on my desktop, there are times I would use it instead of guidus.
(There would still be times I require mkusb's usbboot though)....

  8. [SOLVED] Re: how do I move windows installation file to usb back disc ?

Rufus has a Windows to Go option that allows installing Windows 10 on an external drive, if you do not want it on your internal drive.
The speed of WTG largely depends on the type of external drive...

  11. [ubuntu] Re: How to resize Ubuntu 18.04 Partition on Dual Boot Windows 10

I had good luck using AOMEI, (free), to partition a Windows drive when Windows couldn't handle it.
I have had problems in the past using GParted on a Windows drive. Besides it can take a long time.

  14. Re: 19.10 Ubuntu live image has a persistent write behaviour by default, why not r/o*

If you do not like the casper-rw partition created with 19.10, you can always convert the casper-rw partition to a NTFS data partition.
this will allow the partition to be used for data on both...

Re: Run an ISO in Ubuntu

Rufus now has an option to make a "Windows To Go" USB.

Re: Run an ISO in Ubuntu

  17. Re: Adding Win10 (separate SSD) to existing Ubuntu 18.04 system (legacy boot)

I have just moved Windows to it's own drive.
    Both drives BIOS boot.
I simply set the Ubuntu drive as first drive then ran update-grub.
Windows will boot via win bootloader when I press f12.
