  2. Re: Starting A Program From Konsole - Any Way To Automate It Or Create A Shortcut?

Not sure if this is helpful to you, but....
In my case I want to run Chromium in Kubuntu under firejail and with a cache limit size of 50MB.
I can do this as a one-off from Konsole, but for a more...
  3. [SOLVED] Re: CVE Status for Repository Firejail Version

I found a fix a year or so ago on the mint forum.
Your post has just made me realise there may be a more official home for these things somewhere...
  4. [SOLVED] Re: CVE Status for Repository Firejail Version

Thanks - I'd sort of thought that, but didn't really have much confidence in my ability to draw justifiable valid conclusions from the github discussions.
I guess I was also a bit reassured by the...
  5. [SOLVED] CVE Status for Repository Firejail Version

I notice that the version of firejail in the 18.04 repositories (0.9.52-2) has two open CVEs against it https://firejail.wordpress.com/download-2/cve-status/

Anyone have any advice to offer on the...
  6. Re: My Own IP and Loopback Listed as Connected Domains when accessing a Website

I think it's probably conducting some sort of security scan - looking for eg VNC remote access connections or open ports typically used by trojans. I'm not clever enough to read the js to find out...

[ubuntu] Re: Deja-Dup Backup Failed Ubuntu 19.04

It's a bit of an oblique response, but are you wedded to using deja-dup? Other backup solutions are available.

I recall having issues with it years ago. I switched to back in time and have had no...

    [SOLVED] Re: SELinux.

Might it be good to focus on hardening the browser first?
Run it under firejail, or as a snap?
Add something like ublock origin to it?
Maybe you've already done those things though.

    [SOLVED] Re: Questions about wayland

I gave up using wayland on kubuntu 18.04 because synaptic wouldn't run. Don't know if it does in 19.04.
If you have logged in to a wayland session xeyes will show if specific applications are really...
  11. Re: the meeting has been moved forward by 2 days

I'm also UK based (though I have worked elsewhere) and my initial response was the same as The Cog. I think there may be some sensitivity to verb as well though.

Re: Who else is eagerly waiting for 20.04 ?

I run kubuntu on old hardware, so have no special need for new kernel features. I suppose I'll have to go to 20.04 fairly early though, since kubuntu 18.04 only has three years support. I'm...

    Re: Saying goodbye to Canonical

I like Ubuntu Mate, but I'm currently running Kubuntu 18.04.

    ~350MB at boot, idle.

    It's pretty full featured too.
  15. Re: Google - Ceasing Support for Ubuntu App Login

Kubuntu has an application under System Settings/Personalisation called Online Accounts, which provides a login dialogue for Google Accounts.
  16. Re: Exactly what does enabling UFW change to how Ubuntu 19.04 handles network connect

I can't comment on the accuracy of this, but for succinctness and clarity I think it's great.

    Re: Screen Shot Application?

Spectacle has a Print option under Save & Exit (Ctrl+P). I've only ever used it to print to pdf.
It would likely pull in quite a few kde depenencies to your Budgie desktop.

    Re: AV Software

To answer your question directly, Sophos AV for linux works on 18.04, both On-access and On-demand modes. It is CLI only though.
Whether it's any use is another matter.

  22. Re: Does Cross over open you up to viruses?

I empathise. I also need Garmin Express for my car sat nav.
Possible different approach. I bought a refurbished Windows 10 laptop to run it for twice the cost of a 1 year Crossover licence.

    Version table:...
  24. Re: looking to see if there are programs in ubuntu software

    apt-cache search bfg

doesn't actually tell you whether bfgminer is installed.

    apt-cache policy bfgminer
    would

I know nothing of how it is run though.
  25. Re: looking to see if there are programs in ubuntu software

If you want to find out if you've actually installed it first type

    apt-cache policy bfgminer

    into a terminal
