    have you installed powertop?

    then
    sudo apt-get install powertop

    ?

    This gave me the option to do something with hard drive access times, by enabling it, my battery life...

    FYI, i have created a new file called orange in the bbtether/conf directory. I copied the sprint one and renamed to orange, and changed the settings - username, password, and apn to orangeinternet....
