I don't think so. I mentioned in my previous post that this erratic behavior only occurs when Transmission is running. Otherwise, the system is fine.

Got rid of the glow by fiddling with some of the shadow settings in emerald as suggested by Forlong.

I did a reboot just in case and the problem resurfaced.

Forlong, there's no xorg folder under lib. I'm using Hardy, btw.
