ok I finally got enough free time to fix this, but the wine PPA won't install wine1.6 "no release candidate'" or wine 1.5 for the same reason. only one it installs is 1.4 if I do an apt-get install...

if I read this right, the one PPA with AMD is the old one? or should I just try commenting out the first one in the list?

I updated my 12/04 machine and wine completely uninstalled itself, it seems. and trying to re-install tells me the package system is broken. any idea what happened here? I don't knwo what information...

it's only ever been in my android tablet. Attached it to a Linux system to load songs and such on it, but kept the original formatting. But like I said it is working now... though I never was able to...

what does your /etc/samba/smb.conf say? the upgrade may have wiped out your working conf file.

as a side note. the version I downloaded for packettracer 5.3.3 was "Packet Tracer v5.3.3 Application only Linux-Ubuntu.bin." the ONLY way I got this to run was to rename AND chmod it

also, when I do the "xauth list" it says it is creating /home/me/.Xauthority in my home directory, but an ls -A does not show one for me either.
