    [ubuntu] Re: Epson et-3850 (et-3760)

The Epson ET-3850 can be made to work fairly easily on 18.04. You are using a USB connection? Provide
    lsusb -v | grep -A 3 bInterfaceClass.*7

Your experience is the one that counts. What is it?
  3. Re: Fuji Xerox DocuPrint C525A Driver (CUPS)

/usr/lib/cups/filter/FXM_PF exists in the package. I am unable to offer any further help. Sorry.
  4. Re: Fuji Xerox DocuPrint C525A Driver (CUPS)

    wget http://fastcat.org/debrepo/pool/main/f/fuji-xerox-docuprint-c525-a-ap/fuji-xerox-docuprint-c525-a-ap_1.0-2_i386.deb

The package dates from 2005. The driver is probably 32-bit. Good luck :).
  5. Re: Problems printing to Brother HL-L2300D (Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS)

Thanks. However, the idea I had in mind will not work.

    See https://wiki.debian.org/CUPSDriverlessPrinting.
  6. Re: Problems printing to Brother HL-L2300D (Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS)

No need to be frightened of this command. It simply tells us whether your device is capable of using the IPP-over-USB protocol. You don't want to know? All well and good.
  7. Re: Problems printing to Brother HL-L2300D (Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS)

I'll try a long shot. Please give

    Re: Reset/reinstall whole printing system

It is relatively easy to do what you request, but the question is - is it really necessary? What are the printer models?

Re: HP printer only works once

If you can get any useful information from this user, you are welcome to try.
  10. Re: Why do I have multiples of same printer?

You have decided that a printer model and the way you deal with it on a modern printing system is
irrelevant. It is hardly worthwhile carrying on, especially with all the moaning.

    All...
  11. Re: Why do I have multiples of same printer?

Epson ink-jet and a Brother laser-jet are not good enough. What are the precise models?

I do not understand what "company supplied install drivers " involves and what it does.
  12. Re: Why do I have multiples of same printer?

    It is traditional to mention:

    The connection method. USB? Network?

    The printer model.

    Any vendor drivers installed.

Re: HP printer only works once

USB does not appear to be an issue because printing takes place. The printing filtering system also does not appear to be an issue because, again, printing takes place. The user experiences the...

Re: HP printer only works once

I really haven't any definitive answer to this. It is beginning to look like some fundamental issue. Try backing up cupsd.conf and doing
    cp /usr/share/cups/cupsd.conf.default /etc/cups/cupsd.conf ...

Re: HP printer only works once

The outputs of the two commands look OK to me. From my perspective ipp-usb is functioning correctly and should manage printing before and after a reboot. It shouldn't make any difference, but you...

Re: HP printer only works once

The 3630 is a modern printer. The technique I gave you replaces HPLIP as a manager of printing. In fact, HPLIP may as well be purged from the system.
systemctl status ipp-usb should show the...

Re: HP printer only works once

ippusbxd is a suboptimal utility and even its author would agree there is a better way of handling a USB-connected device. It has now been removed from Ubuntu and replaced by ipp-usb. I suggest:

  20. Re: Hi, I can't get my Ubuntu to recognize my printer 4 in 1.

Your scanner is supported by sane-airscan. You will also need ipp-usb for a USB connection.

On Ubuntu 21.04 a user would be given sane-airscan by default. You will have to download and install it from
