  1. Re: Canít get Ubuntu to boot on Ryzen 5 3600 with Tomahawk B450 Motherboard

    First, Update the BIOS/EFI.
If you still have issues, try disabling "SVM Mode" in your EFI to work around the issue. It's not ideal to keep SVM disabled if you run VM's, but maybe it will allow you...
  2. Re: DeVeDeNG Error When Running FFMPEG

Maybe this will have some clues:
    https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/AudioVolume
    http://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/1070
  3. Re: DeVeDeNG Error When Running FFMPEG

It looks like either something is wrong with the source file or the program is trying to use ffmpeg incorrectly.

Re: MSI GS63 Stealth fan control

Since it's a laptop, the fan control is probably done through ACPI and you don't have control over it without a proprietary program like Dragon Center.
  5. [lubuntu] Re: Lubuntu 18.04.5 32 bits How install using standard vga driver 1280X1024 16 bits 6

    What does xrandr say?

    xrandr -q
  6. Re: Please update your driver (Adaptec raid)

This is a forum of users supporting users. Canonical is a relatively small operation and their employees are busy developing and reading bug reports.
  7. [lubuntu] Re: Lubuntu 18.04.5 32 bits How install using standard vga driver 1280X1024 16 bits 6

I believe it is correct. If it did not work, please give the terminal output.

Neither one of them uses the GPU for accelerating graphics. They are both going to use a lot of CPU and be...

    [ 27.091] (**) FBDEV(1): claimed PCI slot 1@0:0:0

So it's defaulting to fbdev. Try removing xserver-xorg-video-fbdev package to force vesa driver.
  9. [lubuntu] Re: Lubuntu 18.04.5 32 bits How install using standard vga driver 1280X1024 16 bits 6

Can you copy and paste your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file? (Use code tags as it's a lot of text.)

There are two "generic" video drivers for X - fbdev and vesa. Your log should show which is being used...
  10. Re: Ffmpeg with libfdk_aac support for 20.04 LTS

Yeah, it appears this page was last updated in 2016. I'd be interested to know if the ffmpeg encoder got better in 4.x

My ears do not particularly care for AAC. I'd rather use vorbis, opus or mp3.
  11. Re: How To Choose Default In Sound Settings?

You can probably do it with 'pacmd' commands. Start here:

    pacmd list-cards
  12. [ubuntu] Re: ubuntu low gpu usage but really high cpu usage

Can you show the output of:

    glxinfo -B
  13. Re: Problems with ubuntu and my Asus FX705GD laptop Problems with ubuntu and my Asus

Re: Cannot detect my Seagate 1TB drive

Open your case and look at it. Consult your mobo manual if necessary to determine the numbering of SATA ports (assuming this is a SATA drive). Or maybe it will tell you in the BIOS/EFI if it's...

Re: Cannot detect my Seagate 1TB drive

Can you tell us what motherboard you have and what port it is connected to?
  16. [ubuntu] Re: Need help with installing Ubuntu to work with Nvidia graphics card

You may be able to hack in the 304.xx driver with Ubuntu 18.04.1:

  17. Re: Ffmpeg with libfdk_aac support for 20.04 LTS

Also note that ffmpeg says "as of 2017 libfdk_aac may not always be better than aac for AAC-LC. The built in aac encoder is quite good." - https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/HighQualityAudio
  18. Re: Ffmpeg with libfdk_aac support for 20.04 LTS

Well, you can try it out here: https://launchpad.net/~dtl131/+archive/ubuntu/ffmpegcustom/+packages
  19. Re: Ffmpeg with libfdk_aac support for 20.04 LTS

Ah, I see. I thought their implementation had gotten better in that regard since ffmpeg 4.x
I'll see if I can whip one up in my PPA. It might take a little while to build. I'll let you know.
  20. Re: Ffmpeg with libfdk_aac support for 20.04 LTS

Is there a reason you need fdkaac and can't use ffmpeg's built-in aac support?
  21. [ubuntu] Re: Does AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G support integrated graphics?

Intel moved the GPU from the motherboard to the CPU about 10 years and AMD about 8 years ago. So it's not common anymore and I'm not sure why we are telling OP about it, especially when OP wants a...
  22. [ubuntu] Re: Does AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G support integrated graphics?

Okay, so can you or QIII give an example of a Socket AM4 motherboard that has integrated graphics in the way you define it that the OP should avoid? Also, note that the OP wants integrated graphics...
  23. [ubuntu] Re: Does AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G support integrated graphics?

I'm not sure what you're getting at. The OP is talking about Socket AM4 boards, which all support integrated graphics (by having physical video outputs). I think you are just making things more...
  24. [ubuntu] Re: Does AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G support integrated graphics?

You're using the word dedicated incorrectly there. Dedicated graphics is a chip that just does graphics. In other words, graphics on an APU are still integrated. They're just integrated directly into...
  25. [SOLVED] Re: Help with missing drivers - Ryzen laptop

Don't worry about the IOMMU being unclaimed. As for the audio, you probably need a newer kernel for that to work. But if you don't need to use the HDMI/DP audio, don't worry about that either.
