  1. Re: This question about the Earth is troubling me

You can disagree with me all you like, nonetheless, FE "theory" still doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
I'm yet to see a flat Earth proponent provide any positive evidence for the flat fantasy.
    It...

Stars rotating around a central point anti-clockwise in the northern hemisphere & clockwise in the southern hemisphere indicate that the Earth is a spheroidal body.

Re: A few simple beginner questions

    Hi there.
    Just my opinion:

    1. Stick with the LTS (Long Term Support) release, which you have. (16.04 - that's the year & month of release by the way, so 17.10 is October 2017 release).
    LTS...

Re: Can a SSD drive replace RAM?

    Hi there.
If I recall correctly I got 2 x 2Gb DDR2 for £7 a stick (£14 total) in a second hand game/tech shop named CeX in the UK. It's a chain & they have all kinds of things, games, phones,...

  12. Re: No login prompt 16.04 mini iso/server install

Hi sudodus & thanks for the info.
I don't want to come over as an ingrate but, I was hoping to use a 64 bit OS so I can install google chrome for Netflix.
Both boxes, although a little underpowered...
  13. Re: No login prompt 16.04 mini iso/server install

    Hi DuckHook.
Thanks for the tips & info.

Currently the MSI works well with Lubuntu - I'm going to leave that alone for now.

  14. Re: Ubuntu 16.04 is slow on a 1.6 GHz-32 bit, 2GB RAM computer

Oh I see, my bad, sorry.
I don't think I can help you with the firefox thing. It's outside my sphere of knowledge.
    Sory man, good luck.
  15. Re: Ubuntu 16.04 is slow on a 1.6 GHz-32 bit, 2GB RAM computer

    Hi again.
    Perhaps I'm not being clear.
I've never used Rufus & have no intention of using Rufus.
I make my install USBs using either Unetbootin (available on Windows) or Startup Disk Creator....

    Hi again.
I've no experience with Rufus, nor am I about to embark on that journey, sorry.

    Hi again.
For me lscpu yields the same result as your second code box. (Showing 64 bit architecture).
