  1. [all variants] usb bandwidth issue with edirol ua-25ex soundcard

I have a UA-25EX USB 1.1 sound card, which on another machine works fine at 44.1kHz, 48kHz (full duplex stereo), 96kHz (half duplex stereo).

On my new laptop, a Dell Latitude E6510, I'm running...

    [kubuntu] Re: jackd and jitter/skipping

You should be able to install the 'linux-rt' package. I remember some of the -rt kernels in Ubuntu weren't very good - not sure if that changed since (switched back to Debian myself), but you might...

[ubuntu] Re: ATI HDA Sound problems

'aplay -l' output would indeed help.

What kind of problems are you experiencing? Which application did you use to try and play audio? What happened?

Re: sound is nearly inauduble on eee 900ha

What kind of card is that?

Iirc this is a common problem with Intel HDA cards when it fails to correctly autodetect the 'model', see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto
  8. [ubuntu] Re: Sound lags, while scrolling down a web page

Perhaps the audio and video card are sharing some resource - are they on the same IRQ? (see 'lspci -v' and /proc/interrupts)

[ubuntu] Re: Sound Randomly goes Silent (Ubuntu 8.10)

This means the process with PID 6161m has opened the sound card for playback.

'ps aux | grep 6161' should tell you which program this PID belongs to.

Perhaps something has taken exclusive control over your soundcard?

See http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/troubleshooting_exclusive_sound_card_access for how to check.

[all variants] Re: Splitting Sound between Ears

If the audio player and video player both support jack, it'd be easy to do with that.

It might be overkill though - I'm not sure whether PulseAudio will be able to do the same, it's possible.

    Re: Where are my xorg.confs?

I really don't know, but 'Xorg -configure' can auto-generate an xorg.conf for you. Perhaps that yields a config that is easier to tweak?

    [ubuntu] Re: audacity plug-ins

Have you downloaded them 'manually' or did you install their respective packages?

I think if you install them from the repositories they should automatically show op in Audacity.

Some sound cards have a 'direct monitoring' switch that makes it directly send out whatever it picks up on the inputs - you could try and see if your card has something like that in 'alsamixer'.
