I removed all the oss4 components except alsa-oss and oss-compat and then ran what your commands in the terminal and that works.

I just turned on my machine again and now it's gone again. I'll do the fix as before, it was easy. Unfortunately, I want a more permanent fix. Let me try uninstalling anything that is oss4 related.
That worked, thank you very much! should I still uninstall alsa-backports or linuxant driver? I don't know if i have them or not. I'll check in synaptic.
Also, as for the OSS4 errors, that...
Unfortunately, probably a related issue, anything that has to do with OSS4 doesn't install correctly. What could be going on there? I'm going to continue with the steps you gave me.
