  1. [all variants] Re: [Boot-Repair] Graphical tool to repair the PC boot in 1 clic !

Thanks for the tool; it works great! One bit of feedback: the forum post contains instructions for installing boot-repair from the terminal, but the wiki page does not. It would be helpful to add...

  3. [SOLVED] Re: Wiped MBR and update-grub does not detect ubuntu

I ran update-grub again and it detected the Ubuntu install this time, but still didn't list Windows. I'll report back after I reboot.
  4. [SOLVED] Re: Wiped MBR and update-grub does not detect ubuntu

  8. [SOLVED] Re: Wiped MBR and update-grub does not detect ubuntu

I've already done this, and you actually left out a few important commands. In order for update-grub to work, you need to bind /dev and /proc; so it would look like:

Ran the boot script within my live CD environment and got this:

  12. [SOLVED] Re: Wiped MBR and update-grub does not detect ubuntu

Shameless bump. I've been able to mount and navigate my Ubuntu install from the live CD, but GRUB doesn't automatically detect the Ubuntu install when I run update-grub.
  13. [SOLVED] Re: Wiped MBR and update-grub does not detect ubuntu

    I guess I didn't "wipe the MBR"; I ran:

    rm /boot/*
    rm -r /boot/grub
  14. [SOLVED] Wiped /boot and update-grub does not detect ubuntu

I was having some issues with GRUB2, so I decided (stupidly) to wipe out /boot on my ubuntu drive and run update-grub and grub-install.

After running these and rebooting, I found that my Ubuntu...
