  1. Re: New PC: Ryzen 5 2400G and Gigabyte B450 M a good choice?

The author of this thread left the building months ago. Please people: don't necromance old threads. But since this one has now clawed itself out of its grave, I suppose it must be permitted to...

Re: which search machines are good.

    Both statements are true.

I've had very decent results with DuckDuckGo, but occasionally resort to Google if DDG returns limited hits. My own purely anecdotal comparison: DDG tends to return fewer...

Re: Ubuntu 18.04 USB3 Bad Boot

Okay, I think I see what your end goal is. You are not looking for a Live USB at all, but rather, you want to clone your SSD/HDD onto your USB stick.

Re: Ubuntu 18.04 USB3 Bad Boot

I've read your post twice now and still don't understand what you are trying to do. Perhaps it would help if you tell us what your end goal is—what you are trying to achieve. I don't understand why...
  8. [Other Ubuntu/Debian based] Re: Laptop randomly shuts down when using battery

Given the symptoms you describe, the likeliest reason is a failing battery (I used to play around with a lot of old laptops: this was a recurring problem). The laptop may report a "full" battery, but...
  9. Re: 16.04/GNOME Flashback, latest update and now cabn't add workspaces

It may be as simple as the wrong key combos. The default GNOME behaviour has been changed to vertical switching rather than horizontal. So, the proper key combo is <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Up/Down> rather than...

Can't help you on the technical front, especially since Windows and its WAD are an alien landscape to me, but since you've posted on the chat forum and presumably are welcoming peripheral commentary…...

If you would care to detail the steps that you took, then mark this thread "solved", it may help someone else who comes across this thread in the future. It would also be appreciated by the community.
