  1. [ubuntu] Re: minidisplay port almost working on dell xps 15 l512x - driver issue?

While looking into this issue myself, I found someone else who devised an undesirable workaround: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2105839

They uninstalled bumblebee and found an xorg...

I have a similar problem running Unity. Under Keyboard in the settings, I can make a custom shortcut, which then works fine. Subsequently however, the shortcut doesn't seem to work until I reset the...

[ubuntu] Re: S76 Lemur vs Dell XPS 13 vs ZR UltraLap430

The new Dell XPS 13 developer edition sports a 1080p 13.3" screen and comes preinstalled with Ubuntu. I have not seen one in person, so it is possible that it requires a magnifying glass to use, but...
  5. [ubuntu] Re: 12.04 problem with flash videos playing fast and sound problems

I tried reinstalling 12.04 (with a clean wipe of the home directory) to see if that would fix the issue.

It did not; I have the same problem running a 64-bit Ubuntu 12.04.

    Pulseaudio stutters...

[ubuntu] Re: X Crashing (Google Chrome?)

Point taken, the only bug report I found was filed with google (who dismissed it as a Ubuntu problem).

Anyway, installing the newest Nvidia driver seemed to fix the issue with me.

The first point is just absurdly hyperbolic and is phrased in a way that makes it impossible to argue with. Canonical is not taking money away from a non-profit foundation. In all likelihood, through...

I lied, placebo effect tricked me.

IPv6 is disabled, I'm using OpenDNS servers and linux is still unbearably slow. It's incredible how much faster things load in virtualbox (running win 7).

I have a similar (maybe the same) issue. Browsing is slower in Ubuntu than it is in a guest OS (Vbox) of windows 7, both 64-bit. This doesn't make sense to me.

I've tried speed tests and they...
