  1. Re: ping -c 2 8.8.8.8 connect: Network is unreachable

Please prove/confirm that /etc/default/grub was modified and that you rebooted the system.

BTW, ping with only IPv4 should look like this:

    $ ping www.uol.com.br

[lubuntu] Re: permission to make new folder

That link didn't work for me. "Page not found" error from the lifewire.com server. Probably best to seek answers from websites that have "ubuntu" in the domainname somewhere, if you aren't certain...

[ubuntu] Re: Encrypting Ubuntu - Protecting Assets

Encrypted storage is only secure when it is 100%, completely, at rest. When mounted, it is just like any other storage, unlocked, and open to anyone else. This "unlocked" applies for hibernation...
  4. Re: New User, desperatly need help, nothing works

I have a Asus B450, Ryzen 2600 and nVidia 1030 GPU. Extremely stable.

For the GPU, I'm using nvidia-430 and nvidia-430-dev packages. I don't know where the 1030 vs 1650 driver support overlaps....
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Looking for a network controlled media player to run on a headless thin client.

I installed mpd and a few clients today. The system with the speakers connected is my "server". Edit about 3 lines in the /etc/mpd.conf, restart the daemon, install mpc on that same system, run mpc...
  6. Re: Problems with keys while trying to install Wine

First, let's ensure everything on the machine is 100% patched.

sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade
sudo reboot # only if necessary
Copy and paste each of those commands, in order. If there...
  7. Re: ping -c 2 8.8.8.8 connect: Network is unreachable

IPv6 is being used. I find it easier to just disable it completely, but that isn't an option for everyone.
    sudoedit /etc/default/grub
    Modify the line as follows:

    Re: Configuring Netplan

    I'd add:

    dhcp6: false
and disable IPv6 networking via grub too. IPv6 is a huge security failure if your infrastructure doesn't know how to properly firewall and secure those connections.

    Re: Configuring Netplan

192.168.3.10 doesn't need to know anything more than to use the gateway 192.168.3.1.
The router at 192.168.3.1 would have a gateway set to 192.168.1.1.

    That's the outbound NAT stuff.

    Simple....

    Re: Configuring Netplan

YAML is the config file format for netplan. If you don't post using "code tags", we cannot help.
https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=12776168#post12776168 explains code tags for this forum.

You can always use a PPA if you want bleeding edge. Newer isn't always better. For LTS installs, the goal isn't to have the newest version, but to have the same capabilities. Only security updates...

    Re: set domain on sshd

Why do you really care about the domainname? Are you confusing DNS and Kerberos or AD or NIS or NIS+ "domains?" These are all different, not connected at all.

  25. [ubuntu] Re: Looking for a network controlled media player to run on a headless thin client.

gnump3 is a simple player, centralized playlist, webapp. You'll see quickly why this is less than ideal if there are 100+ tracks.

Nobody should be typing files to be played. Use tab completion...
