    [ubuntu] Double drop-down mneus

I'm running Unity and I get drop-down menus both in my applications and in the top bar. Does anyone know how I can get the menus to just show up in the top Unity bar?

Some more looking around at the issue, it seems to only by affecting GTK2 applications. GTK3 applications look just fine.

[SOLVED] Re: Latest upstart update unresolvable dependency

I'm in the same boat. upstart is being held back. Synaptic shows libc6 as being 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.7, while upstart is needing 2.11.1-0ubuntu7.8. I tried switching the mirror from "Server for United...

[ubuntu] Re: SeamlessRDP in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic

I'm having the same problem as well. I can RDP into my Windows box just fine, but seamless RDP just gives me an RDP session that takes up both of my monitors and has no windows decorations.

  12. [ubuntu] Re: "You need to load the kernel first" after update

I really wouldn't recommend anyone run Ubuntu 9.10 with Wubi. I did it as my main development station and work and it was a very bad experience. I had problems that went well beyond the grub2...
  13. [ubuntu] Re: "You need to load the kernel first" after update

There should not be any files under C:\ubuntu\disks\boot\grub, so that is normal.

  14. [ubuntu] Re: "You need to load the kernel first" after update

What does the sentence "No files into grub folder." mean? I assume you are trying to say, "There are no files in the grub folder." Which grub folder are you talking about?

  15. [ubuntu] Re: "You need to load the kernel first" after update

Out of curiosity, are you sure that you are using the final release CD. This was a known issue in one of the pre-release CDs.
  16. [ubuntu] Re: "You need to load the kernel first" after update

The problem is not in Ubuntu. It is in Wubi. A native install of Ubuntu 9.10 will give you a very stable experience.
I used to run 9.10 with Wubi at work and ran into all sorts of problems. I...

[wubi] Re: post 2.6.31-17; grub.cfg fails to process

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I'm running Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 via Wubi, and after the update pushed out the 2.6.31-17-generic kernel I have to type in the exact same commands to boot up.

    [ubuntu] Re: Filesystem problems...?

I'd second that the Karmic via Wubi is not very stable. Every kernel update leaves me with an unbootable machine, and I can only boot with the 14-generic kernel.
I believe these problems are mostly...

Did you get the error message posted in this thread? If not, please start a new thread and document exactly what you get on boot up along with any error message you might be receiving.

I'm excited that you found a fix. I look forward to giving this a shot on Monday.
