1. [all variants] Re: MacBookAir4,1 & MacBookAir4,2 (MBA 2011) support

Welcome. The spurious mouse movements do happen indeed. Once in a while I find my cursor kicked out of sight and hitting some keys then makes the letters appear in the wrong place. But 'IgnorePalm'...
2. [all variants] Re: MacBookAir4,1 & MacBookAir4,2 (MBA 2011) support

The only setting that is causing me touchpad issues is 'IgnorePalm'.

'IgnorePalm' defaults to 'false'. If set to 'true', it becomes impossible to thumb click anything, without lifting the index...

I am using your xorg.conf. I only replaced the long Section "InputClass" with Driver "mtrack"... with those 6 lines. I was not able to find one particular setting in the long list to cause the...

I'm running Oreinic and was able to fix the trackpad issue you describe by using the following in xorg.conf:

MatchIsTouchpad "on"
Identifier "Touchpads"

@defacto I recreated my partitions with root (11.10) + MBR now on /dev/sda4. But no difference. Still no boot. Still only a cursor to look at. What you say about the 1st four partitions makes sense....
8. [all variants] Re: MacBookAir4,1 & MacBookAir4,2 (MBA 2011) support

@srs5694 to me the possible disadvantages (no screen brightness control, no suspend/resume, no virtual terminals) speak against EFI boot for now. The advantages (quicker boot time graphics card...
9. [all variants] Re: MacBookAir4,1 & MacBookAir4,2 (MBA 2011) support

Still waiting for the graphics driver fix. But I also have another problem, that is booting my Ubuntu installation from a secondary partition. I reduced the size of the OSX partition (it's on...
10. [all variants] Re: MacBookAir4,1 & MacBookAir4,2 (MBA 2011) support

I've been using using a 2010 MBA with Ubuntu as my main mobile machine for eight month and it was good. The 2010 MBA did however come with an installer stick. And I sure needed it one day, because...

How can they sell computers without an installation media?

I'd much prefer a sticker to hide their ugly logo.
