I have tried BIOS 1.20 and 1.24 and don't seem to be getting hardware virtualization at all.

Here is my original post, it worked for me. I think the fan permanently spins from 1.20 onwards so 1.17 seems to be the best.

I think the only extra thing you get with 1.24 is hardware accelerated...

Which BIOS version do you have? If it is 1.20 or higher it seems to keep the fan spinning.
