  2. Re: Is this a reasonable copyright agreement?

If you just want a kick out of some anonymous persons reading your stories, then it's irrelevant. If you hope to someday make money off your stories, then don't publish them for free anywhere. Keep...

[ubuntu] Re: Trying to Install Adobe Reader.

@OP, you can natively open .pdf with Ubuntu as it is.

@everyone else, maybe help the guy with his dpkg problem?

I'll volunteer that @OP opens a terminal and runs

    dpkg -l | grep acroread ...

  7. Re: Not too powerful but very physically robust laptop

Yankee keyboard, check, robust magnesium alloy chassis, check, alluminium cover, check. Sorry, no number pad, but I'd look at the Dell Latitude E series....

I know it's not why you arrived here, but with those specs, I'd be very tempted to rather look at antiX. Then you really will get the speed you desire. Go here...

    Re: Which Laptop?

I have an HP, and Lenovo, and My parents have Samsungs all running (U)buntu and out of them all I'd take the HP or my work supplied Dell for buuld quality and out of the box readiness for Ubuntu.

Sorry, mate, used KDE for too many years, (Jockey is the old KDE program to look for drivers)

I'm not 100% sure with Lubuntu, but go to Settings and look for something along the lines of...
  19. Re: New installation of Lubuntu Quantal not picking up wi-fi

Edit; The last hardware I ran that had a Broadcom driver also had issues with wifi....

Re: How many PPAs do you have enabled ?

Then I'd contend that there's a huge gap between Ubuntu users and Linux users.

  25. Re: Are you pushed away from the command line?

Well, then devs should stop pushing updates that bork my system and force me into the cli to fix.

Granted, it doesn't happen often, but I don't run any dodgy or pre-release repositories, and I use...
