[ubuntu] Re: Accidentally deleted config file

    Thx!

While what you advised didn't work, in the process of following it I noticed that when alsa-base reinstalled it placed the config file as a newly dpkg'd file (probably because it conflicted...

[ubuntu] Re: Can't Find Java under Synaptics

Ugh. Me upgrading to Jaunty is not an option until the sound issues are sorted out.

Mayhaps I have to use java.com's binary install. Dislike it very much because the old files are left lying...

[ubuntu] Re: Can't Find Java under Synaptics

Thanks for how to set defaults that worked well.

However apt can't find the plugin.
Add/Remove programs says the plugin is unsupported!

I'm also uncomfortable with the fact that I can't find...

[ubuntu] Re: (Jaunty) Broadcom 4312 Wireless Not Working

Checking the connection at home, the wifi is now detected.

[ubuntu] Re: (Jaunty) Broadcom 4312 Wireless Not Working

Your issue might not quite be the same.
Mine doesn't work even with old kernel.

However, might be worth noting that on my laptop what perhaps should be the wifi button is actually the bluetooth...

[ubuntu] Re: (Jaunty) Broadcom 4312 Wireless Not Working

There isn't a modules folder. There is however modprobe.d. I'll try in there first.

Strangely enough theres a separate blacklist for bcm43, probably set by STA driver to just blacklist every other...

I don't think yours is 100% related. My wireless device is installed but it can't discover my wifi connection.

    Check your hard switch.

[ubuntu] (Jaunty) Broadcom 4312 Wireless Not Working
