From your screenshot I can see you're installing in virtualbox. You need to enable pae in virtualbox. In the VM's settings, go to system -> processor -> enable pae.
+1 on installing the 64 bit version. You can even install 32 bit applications on 64 bit Ubuntu by installing the 32 bit libraries (ia32-libs).
Try updating apt-get modules and see if it pops up:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
If that doesn't work, you can upgrade your distribution from the command line.
In that case, you should be able to install it using the 32 bit libraries in 64 bit Ubuntu.
Try running this:
Sudo apt-get install ia32-libs
Then try installing again.
