hope you can see where i'd go with this , but i'm not going to lol , like you said , we not here to debate on OS's
i can also see "find all my posts" and "find all my threads" , but some of my threads that i know i have started ,is gone .

iv'e used linux for about 2 years now and i experienced the same , everything would work flawlessly for up to 3 months and then random freezes starts and it just gets worse ... then i'd do a fresh...
on win10 atm and was curious ,so closed all applications and hit restart...it took a hole 5.5 min before i could do anything again...yikes
before when i had xubuntu on this same machine , a restart...
what i've noticed with win10 ,it seems like it starts up quick ,the desktop will appear ,but try clicking on anything right away and nothing happens.

then before inserting the flashdrive ,get into BIOS and change boot sequence so flash/usb...

ok wait , only place i saw "quiet splash" now was in the grub setting (sudoedit /etc/default/grub)
so edited it to "quiet splash nomodeset" and updated grub and restart.
then my display was HUGE......

i don't know how to check hardware issues, my thinking is why would it work fine a couple months then starts with freezes?
every time it starts freezing i would do a fresh install and it'll work...
