  1. [lubuntu] Re: Lubuntu 20.04 LTS, tried to upgrade LibreOffice to 7.0, crashes (but not in a tes

Huh, I didn't realise there was a difference. Is the format the same aside from removing -get?
  2. [lubuntu] Lubuntu 20.04 LTS, tried to upgrade LibreOffice to 7.0, crashes (but not in a test VM

    To upgrade, I did this:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-7-0
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
    sudo apt-get autoremove

However, when I run LibreOffice from the...

    I started this thread:

  5. [lubuntu] Re: Epson WF-3520, Lubuntu 20.04, LibreOffice prints garbage

I've just done a quick install of Lubuntu 20.04 LTS in another VM and I can confirm that it comes with LibreOffice 6.4.4.2.
  6. [lubuntu] Re: Epson WF-3520, Lubuntu 20.04, LibreOffice prints garbage

No, I'm just using what came with each respective version. I also tried the latest stable 7.0 version on the host PC, which didn't help.

[lubuntu] Lubuntu 20.04 LTS, dual audio issue

My PC has a Realtek (ALC1150) onboard audio chip with analog out connected to my hi-fi, and I have a graphics card with a HDMI output in use.

After a clean-install of Lubuntu 20.04 LTS, it seems...
  11. [lubuntu] My first Linux upgrade, prep question

I'm using Lubuntu 18.04 LTS (I've been using it/Linux as my primary OS for about 2-3 years IIRC) and I'm receiving the message asking me if I want to upgrade to 20.04 LTS. I've had a quick poke...
  12. [lubuntu] Re: Bluetooth transfer speeds of ~50KB/sec

Thanks for that information. Though 3Mbit/sec suggests about 300KB/sec throughput?
  13. [lubuntu] Bluetooth transfer speeds of ~50KB/sec

A quick google suggests that this is a pretty slow transfer speed?

    Dmesg output:

  14. [SOLVED] Re: Replaced 1TB HDD (non system drive) with 4TB, can't use same mount point?

I should have marked this as solved late last night but I was well and truly done for the day, thanks anyway :)

I got rid of the error with sudo rm /var/crash/*
  15. [SOLVED] Re: Replaced 1TB HDD (non system drive) with 4TB, can't use same mount point?

Hum. After I removed the old entry from /etc/fstab (in hindsight I should have just commented it), rebooted, it mounted the 4TB partition the way I wanted it, though Lubuntu did say 'system problem...
  16. [SOLVED] Replaced 1TB HDD (non system drive) with 4TB, can't use same mount point?

I had a 1TB HDD with an NTFS file system on it. I replaced it with a 4TB HDD again with NTFS (dual-booting, partitioned and formatted the drive in Win10). In Lubuntu, if I use the 'use session...
  17. [lubuntu] Re: 18.04 LTS x64: for approx. a minute after boot, cannot connect to server on same

Thanks for that. I've also confirmed that the problem occurs with the firewall disabled and via IP or hostname.
  18. [lubuntu] 18.04 LTS x64: for approx. a minute after boot, cannot connect to server on same LAN

I'm reasonably new to Lubuntu, I've been using it since June last year (the same version the whole time). I have a server on my own network that hosts my mail and websites. I have Thunderbird to...
  19. [SOLVED] Re: "Update LibreOffice is a great idea", I thought. Trying to revert and failing!

Thanks. Do you think I went about trying to upgrade in the most ideal fashion? Also, is LO 6.1 likely to come to 18.04 RTS?

I thought the snap version was the latest 'fresh' (as opposed to...
  20. [SOLVED] Re: "Update LibreOffice is a great idea", I thought. Trying to revert and failing!

    Thanks, that did the trick.

Was my using the ppa version the most ideal way to install the newer version of LO, or should I have downloaded a deb file from their website? Do you think there's...

  25. Re: How to get a full/normal installation of Lubuntu from a DVD only install?

I definitely ran the 'full upgrade' option in the Muon Package manager. I don't recall if I ran that from the command line.
