  1. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu 12.10 64bit (encrypted harddrive) new install freezes after entering passp

Ultimately found the issue after multiple attempts at different things. The ultimate problem was the bios had dell nvidia optimum setting set to on. I turned it off.
  2. [ubuntu] Ubuntu 12.10 64bit (encrypted harddrive) new install freezes after entering passphras

So I have a fresh install that everything worked well on until I ran the updates for it. After updates I go down for a reboot and it gets to the Enter Passphrase to decrypt harddrive screen and...

  5. [ubuntu] Re: Extract tarball into directory without overwriting .svn files (merge)

patryk77 is right. My example is meant to show a tarball containing only files and directories and then a directory on my hard-drive that has identical structure but has additional .svn directories....
  6. [ubuntu] Re: Extract tarball into directory without overwriting .svn files (merge)

OK, I found a solution, not really optimal but it works.

I used the Linux 7zip utility with Q7z frontend and it works. But I find this a bit clunky even though it does work.

    I am still open to...
  7. [ubuntu] Re: Extract tarball into directory without overwriting .svn files (merge)

There is only one tar file.

The first is a directory to which I would like to extract the tar file on top of without removing the .svn files. file-roller seems to "recreate" each directory before...
  8. [ubuntu] Re: Extract tarball into directory without overwriting .svn files (merge)

hmmm, I guess I could install Ark with KDE but that seems overkill to do that. Anyone else know of anything?
  9. [ubuntu] Extract tarball into directory without overwriting .svn files (merge)

I have a tarball with identical structure to an existing directory. Here is the existing directory:
    /directory
    /directory/file.txt
    /directory/file2.txt
    /directory/.svn
    /file3.txt
    /file4.txt...

RikoW, yes I did do it the way you describe, but it does not open as a resized window after opening again. I think it may not be working properly in 9.10 but I can't seem to confirm this.

[ubuntu] SeamlessRDP in Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic

I have seen tons of tutorials about using seamlessrdp in older versions of Ubuntu to seamlessly pull up windows apps as if they were in Ubuntu.

I recently tried this in 9.10 to find that the...
